I came across this local Shaman at Helldorado Days in Tombstone. He wanted me to take his photo, he was dressed to “the nines”. I didn’t get a chance to speak with him but I understood he came all the way down from Phoenix.

Well, the streets were alive but not with a lot of great photo content. I did find this old guy wearing a unique cowboy hat and eating ice cream. he told me where to get the hat he was so proud of and wore with distinction. I love the street. Each day is new and no two photos are alike. Nor are the people.
Homeless: The Michigan economy continues to lavish. Out of work auto workers still looking for a job. Here is a machinist that lost his job 4 years ago, still looking for work. Hanging out on the streets of Traverse City.
Going to Paris for the umpteenth time to take photos was going to be tricky. i thought about doing the Paris that I know. people, flowers, some iconic images. When I first started shooting the idea was flat. I couldn’t bring myself to get enthused, besides a week was probably not enough to complete any type of project. After visiting some of the more iconic spots an idea hit me like a ton of bricks. Here were all of these people taking photos. Smart phones, iPads, DSLR’s and point and shoots. They got into funny positions, looked up, did some chimping, and it looked crazy. But I did not want to show what they were shooting, I want the viewer to guess. So hopefully, I have enough good images that complete this short project. Here is one image that starts the project.

Went out for the first time with the Sony RX1. Great little camera but did not give it much of a workout. I’ve spent a lot of time on 4th Ave looking for a project. And then it dawned on me today that 4th Ave IS the project. How did I miss this. I need to get back there and start photographing the street life, not just the characters that I have run into every day. The characters are a whole other topic!!
